Social bookmarking and managing your reputation.

I spent some time talking with a future client today about how social bookmarking, blogging, and being active in the various on-line communities was a great way to manage reputation control (and feed more searches to his site).  There are so many web 2.0 sources that rank well naturally for longer key phrases and many more that with just a little bit of link juice pointing at them will rank well.

With a good search engine marketing strategy and a web 2.0 approach it’s very possible to rank well for all those ‘long tail’ keyphrases.  For example instead of used auto parts – you could rank well for ‘rebuilt carborators in new york’ with much less effort.  Just a few of those longer tail keywords can equal a top 10 ranking for a major one.
